Linking an event with a URL (Outlook Calendar)
Your Microsoft account must be connected to Jira and the Outlook Calendar integration must be enabled.
You can manually link an existing event to a Jira issue by copying and pasting a URL to the event.
Retrieving the event URL
To link an event using a URL, you need to find its URL in Outlook Calendar. Because Outlook doesn’t provide a direct “Publish” option for events, you can retrieve the link from the browser’s address bar (if you’re using Outlook on the web) or from OneNote (if your event details are synced there).
To retrieve the URL from Outlook on the web:
Sign in to Outlook on the web or Outlook.com with your Microsoft account.
Open the Calendar and select the event you want to link.
When the event details are displayed in your browser, copy the URL from the address bar.
To retrieve the URL from OneNote (if applicable):
Open the OneNote notebook that’s synced with your Outlook event.
Locate the page where the meeting/event details are stored.
Copy the event link from that note.
Now that you have the event URL, you can link the event to an issue.
Linking the event
If you change tabs in the Calendar Event window while linking an event, you will lose your changes.
To link an event with a URL:
Click the + Add button on the right side of Outlook Calendar.
In the window that appears, click Link from URL.
Paste your event URL in the Event link field. A preview of the event will appear.
See Retrieving the event URL for instructions to retrieve a working URL for your event.
Click Link. The event will be linked to your issue.
Users will only be able to access calendar events that their Microsoft account has the right permissions for. See the Outlook Calendar integration FAQ for more information.
